Bathrooms

I often find myself taking pictures in bathrooms! Shhhh. Same place as the last, on Mass Ave.

Mass Ave

This is my sister's boyfriend's place. There was a massive fire there a couple of months ago and half the building was left uninhabitable. Thankfully, it was not his half, but when they renovate I would not be surprised if these babies are shipped out to the iron pour.

His pipes are loud as hell and the apartment is even hotter!

Portland, Maine, being creative with radiators!

This is at the home of some family friends. They are very good decorators!

Also, a nice paint peeling effect.

molten iron

Here is one way to use old iron... This is from the fall 2008 "Iron Pour" at MassArt. Every year, the iron guild does this, they melt down lots of old radiators etc., and then do fun stuff with molten iron! Such as pour it on big wet tree stumps, causing hot metal embers to fly all over the place. Not for the faint of heart, but pyro's paradise :D

In this pic, you can see the molten iron (I kept wanting to say lava) pouring down a tube.

This video is one of the big explosions from the crowd. It's not too clear or steady, the flying lava did make even me kinda nervous! But you get the idea. Fun uses for old radiators!

The Radiator Graveyard

In Somerville, Massachuesetts, pretty much started it all. I am guessing this guy collects them for scrap iron more than anything else. I thought it was pretty impressive, and kind of, well, beautiful?
